I've got a greddy LS intercooler that I bought second hand for $100, it's taller and wider than stock but not thicker. I've got an Evo9 that's making 460hp and it seems fine but it's winter here in Australia now and it may not work as well in summer. I think I will probably get a VRSF 4" or an ETS 4" as an upgrade at some point. It all depends what your going to spend on the Greddy. I know the R-spec Greddy intercoolers are good, but cost thousands.

well Greddy offers a kit for our cars too, not just the universal LS-spec piece. the core dimensions on the kit I/C are about 11x24x3", and i can pick one up a brand new one for around $500 including the Greddy intercooler piping kit.

basically i really just need to replace my stock I/C as its all jacked up, and get rid of the crappy Injen piping kit that came on my car, and this seems like a viable "two birds-one stone" solution.

my other option would be the ETS 3" at the same price, but i'd be stuck with my crappy Injen piping kit.

From reading Greddy's website, the spec r cores are their better ones. The LS for your application seems like it should work, or just keep searching on the FS section for a used intercooler or piping.

I think this kit is made for the stock turbo, nothing larger.
But yeah, it even costs less than most piping kits!.

Well I'm only planning on using a ported IX turbo. Actually, while I'm on that topic, here's my build plans, perhaps someone else can chime in...

Stock block/head Evo 8, ARP head studs
Comp 280 cams
BR ported & coated IM, TB, exhaust manifold, IX turbo
ETS 3" DP, Helix 3" test pipe, Greddy 3" exhaust
HKS RS intake kit

Either 3" Greddy LS I/C kit
Or
3" ETS I/C with injen piping
