If JAM is local to you and will stand behind their work if you have any issues, then its a no brainer. Do it.

They have my motor now. They did a stroker kit in 05 and it failed, could've been bad tune, so I sent motor their again and am ready to drop serious $$ into it and Tony was trying to talk me out of venolia pistons......Wanted weisco, but that's what failed before. Then he said 4-6wks just to get venolia pistons, not including build time.

Wiseco 1400HD shouldnt have failed, PTW is critical...the standard duty that are now getting phased out arent worth it but any of the HD stuff and the HD2 work very well.

regular weisco before, Tony wanted the hd ones for rebuild. Why try and talk me out of venolia. That's what they use for their "hell raiser"

Not trying to talk you out of anything. Pointing out the reasons for what went wrong originally now are something that has been addressed and isnt a failure point.

Custom Wiseco's are less and Venolia were cool when Shep used 7.5:1 back in 02-03. We ran 8.23 with off the shelf HD2 castings and now an 8.07 and 8.08 with the same casting in an 11.5:1.

Your motor and if you want to spend $175 extra, your choice. There might be penalties for no healthcare but its still a free country otherwise

If your builder and ER says you should use Wiseco HD, you might want to listen

...Also for what its worth, Ron Shearer who has been a DSMer since a long time works for Wiseco and has given Mitsu stuff a little more attention since they are near and dear to him as well.

dumb! If the best(they say) is venolia, then why recommend weisco? Idk, maybe make more money? I don't know motors, going off THEIR website and highest rated hp engine has venolia. Ignorance......

Plus it shouldn't take 4-6wks to come in. I called venolia today, talked to doug and he said 2-3wks at most. Something is fishy.....it just don't add up. I have bad experience with weisco, why can't they respect that. Especially if venolia are better in THEIR WEBSITE, not my opinion. ......you guys get paid by tony????

You were the one that said Venoila pricing and lead time was unreasonable. It sounds like you changed your mind now and thats fine. Dont take my word for it on the pistons if you dont want to, what do I know?

doug at venolia said 125 pist/pin/rings combo max price. I'm ok with jam making $275 on me if they get it done in a reasonable time. 4-6wks is unreasonable especially when doug said 2-3wks tops. I'm willing to spend money for it......Trust me, i make a lot.....went to school longer than most.

Btw, $275 extra on pistons alone, not entire rebuild.
