seized 2005 Evo 4g63 engine value

Hi all,

As the title says, I have a seized 4g63 from a 2004 evo with just over 50-60k on it. What would be the going rate to sell this thing? I don't know whats wrong with it, just told me its seized. My uncle owns a mechanic shop and wants to get rid of it so asked me to find out. Thought this is the most helpful place to ask. Thanks

PS: Its a full block with the turbo and all that jazz..

Probably not much at all. Turbo is probably trashed too since the motor seized up.

You can get maybe $20 from the metal junk yards. If the head is fine, you might be able to make some money. Other then that, no one buys junk motors.

If you can get all the parts out and sell the bare block that could be fix you could get 200 to 300, same with the turbo as long as the turbo is ok

Do you think it would be better if I buy a rebuild kit, rebuild it and then sell it? Or is that not worth it?

Worth it if you or your uncle can rebuild it.

well I'm no mechanic, My uncle is, he can rebuild it. The turbo seems to be fine.. Hmm I'll ask him. He said something about having to polish the heads if he rebuilds etc..take to machine shop..I dunno what that jazz is all about.
