I always used nickel anti seize and drilling out the last Arp wasn’t fun. The oem’s must shrink and expand or something but, at least for myself knock on wood, haven’t had one snap on disassemble. I guess I should just leave the turbo on the car lol. Dsmtuners, different turbo, and could be casting related, but one guy said he spoke to arp they said they’re not rated past 800* f lol. Post 24 from the mod. I wonder if that’s why only my Arps been snapping.

Morrison fab tested the FP dsm manifold to their manifold.

http://morrisonfabrications.com/tech...-dyno-testing/

Results were close but it would've been nice to have shaft speed. The FP manifold still works really well for what it is.

Anyone using? Or suggest using titanium hardware from the manifold to the turbo itself?

I have heard horror stories about the arp stainless

wondering how the titanium hardware would fare?

again not the hardware mounting to the head.... but manifold to turbo

You’ll be fine using the titanium hardware on turbo to manifold, that’s what I’m currently running on mine from jdc customs.

Anybody who's had problems with the ARP stainless likely weren't using a high temp anti seize, which should be used regardless of material. Titanium threads are just as likely to gall as stainless without anti seize.

The long bolts needed for the FP mani always made me nervous, though I've never seen any actually break.
I may have to take the chance, with my next build.

I didn't use the ARP bolts, I used the FP ones and I think I put aluminum antiseize on them and one snapped.. I kinda forgot about that until just now... But I think it was the shorter bolt that snapped

That's odd. The long ones are the ones I'd expect to fail. Surely I could find a stud to use instead. I'm not into putting high torque values onto long bolts. I think I have PTSD from my Honda days. The cam cap bolts would snap any time you just look at them funny.

So I looked at my turbo last night... It was both the long bolts that snapped in two like a frozen dog.
Yeah man! I had that happen with my neon head way back in the day too. That was a nightmare to try to drill out but these will be much worse. I think Sean was saying I should've used copper antiseize, I think that was my issue in this one.
I don't know what kind of metal we can get these made out of that won't rust in the holes and get stuck

*edit*
Come to think of it I guess it's the manifold that rusts so I guess I need to just go to a stainless manifold

I have an iron manifold. So far, so good This is after two years of autox and track use. I gave my turbine housing the same treatment.
