Are you saying the output shaft on the transmission is not engaging to the transfer case? Put a jack underneath the tcase, jack it up to around the height needed, lay on your back and pick it up while sliding it over. It may take a little bit of wiggling around and convincing to line up the teeth but it'll slide in there.

Read 26, 27, 28 on this page. The shaft theyre talking about needs to be removed, you will need a slide hammer.
