2.2l help.

Ok I have been doing a lot of research on the 2.2l motors. I really want to keep my 4g63 block. I have found couple different way for the combination to work. I found the basic 94mm crank and 150 rods with 2.2 pistons. Which all it is the wrist pin moved up 3mm. Then the English racing slr. 94 mm crank 153 rods and custom pistons. The last one I found was Magnus with their 92mm crank and custom rods and pistons. I know the big thing is the rod ratio and how far you rev out the motor. Help me get an idea on the best set up.

To help this is what I have or am doing.
Will be a pump gas 93 octane car.
I have 150mm turbo tuff rods.
Evo 8 head. Will be sent out to curt brown
STM 650 cams. Wait on them to be finished
Curt brown stock ported intake mani
Buschur 65mm throttle body
Jacks trans with 4.11 final
Jacks transfer case
Tre rear
Quarter master 8 leg
Fp hta 3586 or Pte 6266
Shearer t3 hot parts kit
All supporting mods that will be needed.

manley, JE, and Arias have shelf stock pistons for 150mm rods. KISS method. 153mm rods wont do squat in the grand scheme but will allow lower or higher compression from shelf stock 2.3 pistons. the dish will be designed for 2.3 compression, not 2.15. just plain no on magnus setup.

Is there a big advantage to using the 153 rod combo over the 150 rod combo.

Pistons are lighter in the 153mm and the rod doesnt end up heavier overall so in the end its a lighter setup as far as reciprocating mass. Not much though as Jerry pointed out. The difference in R/s is 1.627 on the 153mm and 1.595 on the 150 which is only 2% but since its uses a piston with a 1.137 compression height there are LOTS more choices.

So 94mm crank and a 153 rod with a 2.3 stroker piston and I'll be golden. Thanks for the help.

Any one lookin for a brand new set of turbo tuff rods?
And a set of new Ross standard pistons. Hahah. Block needs bored or I would of went with a 2.0.
