whining noise month after motor install

Hey all,
I just recently build my motor due to breaking 3 pistons, its been about a month now i got the car from the shop and i am suddenly hearing a whining noise and i am pretty sure its the transfer case.I bought redline mt90 oil for tranny and transfer case i didn't know that the t/c carries diaqueen oil so my question is this noise caused due to not using the right oil in the t/c?I am about to drain out the t/c oil and replace with diaqueen hope that this noise goes away any help and advise would be greatly appreciated. Also not to mention i didn't even push the car since the rebuild seeing that i have to retune so i am very shocked to hear noise coming from my t/c all of a sudden thanks guys.

Yep that fluid will do it. It's not thick enough. Hopefully it's not too late for you.

Mt90 is a GL4 fluid, meant for the transmission. for the rear diff, and transfer case you need a GL5 fluid. Search on here what fluids you should use or follow this link.

according to the manual the tc holds .75 quarts so one bottle will be just fine. I personally like to have 2 bottles laying around as sometimes my little hand held pump doesn't get to the fluid in the bottom of the container too easy so with an extra bottle I can pour in a little more into the first container to make it easier to pump in the last amount.

I saw this link http://www.evomoto.com/tech_info.php?tPath=2&tech_id=25 says .58 qts which is like around 18 ounces.I bought 16.9 ounces from mitsu dealership because they only have 1 gallon container = $200 and over and i didn't had any container with me so i had to use a water bottle lol so this thing is pretty expensive man paid $60 for the 16 ounces so do i need more? the guy there said all they use is 16 ounces so i am not sure how much the t/c

Good advise here for checking your level. Like its stated, doesn't hurt to put in a tad bit more.

Ya your correct, I just peeked at the FSM, and it did say .58 quarts. By the time you get it to spill out and pour in some more to verify that it is full, you will probably be closer to the .75 mark though imo. I always try to put in a tad extra since I track my evo. Never had any issues that way. If I had to say how much I put in mine I would guesstimate about .65 ish give or take.
