Damaged MIVEC Sprocket

Hello,

I think I damaged my MIVEC sprocket when I was installing cams.. I found it difficult to line up the cam with sprocket because I couldn't see the hole like you can on the exhaust side.. Once on and finally installed I checked all timing marks and turned the engine by hand and everything checked out.. Went for a drive after the engine got warmed up and the SES light pops up with the awesome P0011 code.. The following week I took the cam sprockets off and this is what my MIVEC looks like.. Seems to be damaged.. Need advice! Should I replace it (probably uh YES) and would this cause the famous P0011 code?

Thanks ahead of time EVOM!!!

Definitely replace it.....$400 new from Mitsu. I think someone did the same on mine. Luckily you caught it before it did more damage.

Here is what mine looked like after the valves hit the pistons, likely due to someone putting the Mivec gear on in the wrong position.
