Until you assemble a rig that allows you to conduct a pressure test, you are wasting your time. A boost leak check should be the first thing one does when something is amiss, and it should be performed not just once, but every now and then. A boost leak will cause everything you've described here. When you (finally) do test it, pay special attention to the EGR tube, which is a problem area that isn't in plain sight.

Will do. Ill be doing a boost leak test tonight or tomorrow sometime. I did end up fixing a leak last night at my boost gauge "T".

Took the car out fo a spin after the COP install. Car pulled a lot harder and actually didnt mis and break up when getting on it. Through a couple codes thought. The normal PO141. And PO300 and PO171. Not sure what they were about. (Not sure if it is the cold weather helping me out or if the COP made the diffrence).

I also tried turning up my idle to about 1k... since its at 800 right now. And i figured with 280 cams... it could be higher after reading on the forums.

******UPDATE***********

Still having the idle issues. Car now holds 26 lbs of boost/load without issue. After doing a couple boost leak tests i fixed the boost leaks in which helped resolve this issue. Now i just have the idling issue.

When cold, the car will not idle, i have to literally keep my foot on the gas to keep the car running. When warm, the car idles fine. The car also wants to not idle/die when the AC is on.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Could be a tuning issue. I had to play with my iscv tables to get my car to idle better in the cold.

Had slightly similar issue. Idle is eratic sometimes during cold start(mostly occur when its very hot under the sun). Idle goes back to normal when water temp hit a certain temp(in my case 70deg).

Af guage goes towards lean reading during the eratic idle. Readings wld be ard 15-17. Did hit 17-19 a few times as well.

Error code is 0171
Suspected o2 is malfuctioning ocassionally as evoscan log shows o2 value is mostly 0 during those times. No code for o2 failure though and i have yet to change my o2. Lately the issue has showed up as i dun drive it out during the day.

Did you ever happen to figure out why your evo was idling poor when cold? The evo I bought literally a year ago came with the same issues. When I hooked it up to evoscan tho I found that my TPS was erratic and all over the place. It wont stay. It will bounce from like 90 to 2 to 12 to 25 to 38 and just bad. I've been reading tons of forums on this. So far I found out I need to wire test the connector and the tps on the back side of the throttle body to see of they tps is function or I need a new one. Next I'll be cleaning out the iac. If not that then replacing the iac. And also going to check egr and boost leak. I also bought JD coil packs and that didn't help the car either. I also get possible misfire code at WOT.
