Transmission / T-Case questions
Transmission / T-Case questions
Hi Guys,
I have searched a little with a bit to many answers to come up with something a bit more concrete.
Here is my dilemma - Car has 90k miles on it, stock more or less.
I will be rebuilding the motor probably in 2014 for 2015. Turbo setup unknown as of it but hopefully going with a 2.4, built head and probably a HTA Green. Ultimate spool and torque is what I want for just a fun every day car.
SOOOOOO:
I was thinking about having the stock trans rebuilt with a basic rebuild with the HKS 4:11 final gear
T-Case probably going a bit more overboard and go with a stage 2 or stage 3 tcase from TRE or Shep.
Clutch will be the Exedy HD twin disc.
Will a basic stock rebuild hold the power and torque level of what a built 2.4 and Green will produce an be able to hold it for awhile or do I need to go with a stronger trans build?
Thanks in advance guys,
Steve

For just street use and street pulls you will be more then fine with a stock rebuild IMO. If you have an addiction to launching your car it might not be a bad idea to get it built better the first time then needing to go back in and redo it all. If it were me I wouldn't even build it. The stock stuff is very stout and I don't see you being at an extremely risky power level but you'll probably get the itch for more power so its deff not a bad idea to get it done.
