Question Map O2. Yay or Nay?

I have some funds left over from Christmas shopping and wanted to spend it on my car. I know a guy selling his Map O2 Dump for $250. I still have the stock Evo 9 turbo, stock FMIC, but have DP, UICP, and LICP, Megan Exh. Mani., ARP head bolts, 3" cat back and Walbro 255. Car runs good but I would like a bit more power.

Really considering going with the stock cat back, but adding an electric cut out, along with the Open Dump to keep it quiet in the streets and switch it to loud on my "Fun Time".

What do my Evo Owners think?

if you're dead set on getting an e-cutout then don't waste your money on an external dump because you will only be able to hear the e-cutout exhaust. Dumps have a purpose for allowing better control of the wastegate when you start pushing the car, so until you do that I wouldn't get a dump. That's just my opinion though

+1 agreed. Use the money you would spend on the dump and just get the electric cutout. You can barely hear the exhaust at WOT over the dump anyway.

Luv the Special ED video!!! I am not a lady! lol
So will the electric cutout have the same benefits that an O2 dump would? Keep in mind my O2 housing is still stock.

For sound, yes it will be loud with an e-cutout anytime it's open. Boost control won't be as good as an isolated dump tube, but if you're not running a ton of boost over factory then I wouldn't worry about it. If it were me though, I would leave the exhaust alone and just get an o2 dump

Got it, so in the time being I will just get the O2 dump and see how the dump sounds and works. I may consider adding that English racing cutout aswell later down the road. Would be nice to add that to a stock cat-back.

I have had my map o2 dump for awhile now and I love the hell out of it! I do recommend getting the 3d flange option as well as it helps prevent boost creep.

Honestly if I could I would go back and buy the jmfab o2 housing w/ the hood exit dump tube. Looks badass lol
