Wiseco HD2 Gas Ported Pistons need help!

Hey guys for you that run the above mention pistons. Did you guys had problems seating the rings? And how the gas ported will affect a leak down test? My mechanic already came with a solution but just in case anybody here also had that problem before and know how to fix this issue. The pistons are 2.3 stroker pistons Hd2 gas ported Asymethric skirt on a 2.0 long rod setup. Also we did a leak down test and it didn't go very well but we did a load test and a compression test and it was pretty even across the board. Thanks for anyone who can chime on this

We use and sell the HD pistons a lot. We have never really had a problem with rings seating with them at all. If you're worried about the gas porting giving you high leak down number they don't.

The 2 main things that keep rings from seating are

1) improper break in method or wrong oil used at break in.

2) Wrong grit stone used when honing the block.

Depending on what rings are used will let the machinist know what grit stone to use for the finish hone.

The grit used for a cast steel ring is much more coarse than what is used on a moly ring.

When you put pressure to the port it forces the ring out, the whole idea of a gas port piston...better seal with less tension. If you do leakdown you are putting 100psi to them so they should work the way they are designed and seal.
