HELP ID1000 injectors for evo dont fit
Hi all recently purchased some ID1000 injectors to suit evo 3-9 and have found they dont actually fit as they are too long and dont allow the fuel rail to clamp down correctly.
Anyone else experienced this and what did you do to overcome it. Im a little dissapointed they are continuing to advertise and sell a product with specific fitment that doesnt actually fit what its advertised for at all

Is that as far down as the injector goes into on the intake manifold side? It looks like the injector isnt seated all the way down, like the O-ring is getting caught. Lube them up a bit if you haven't already tried that. The only other thing I would say is measure the heights of your old and new injectors where the seals are at and see if they are similar.
Is the tip of the injector getting hung up on the Intake manifold. I had one time where I had to drill out the intake manifold injector hole because the tip was just slightly to large. Just ran a drill bit through the injector holes and then I was able to seat them correctly.
Before you do this, make sure you measure everything, you don't want to go to big. You still want them to fit nice and snug.

^^^ what he said. Before you start drilling take the O ring off and see if the injector seats down ok just to verify you don't have something else going on. That kind of sucks you would have to drill out your injector holes to make these work though.
They should fit with no issue. I have the same injectors in my car. I took a look at mine and the metal part of the injector touches the the manifold and you don't see any of the injector below the metal part. For example on your's the 1BN 348 would not be seen, if you look the gap at mounting point is about how much space you have where the injector's metal part should contact the intake manifold. Like someone mentioned before maybe the o-ring needs to be lubed better.

That photo is with no lower o ring whatsoever. there appears to be a lip or lower oring retainer that is part of the injector see attached picture and this bottoms out in the manifold. i have measured these and they are approx 3 mm longer then the factory injector

looking online there appears to be two differant available lengths between o ring to o ring one is 71mm the other is 68mm.
Unfortunately the evo specific kits are the 71mm type and are incorrect.
looking at the two below pictures the only differance between the 68mm ones and the 71mm ones appears to be the top adaptor.
Is anyone that has these injectors fitted able to clarify if there top adaptors are the curved type as used on the 71mm injector pictured or the squared off type like the 68mm injector pictured

I had this problem with mine too, that black plastic piece was just slightly too big of a diameter to fit into the injector hole, so I drilled the hole out ( only a small amount) and it then fit properly.
I just bought a pair for my 04 and they fit without any issues. Had to double check and make sure the orings weren't pinched, and order PNP adapters. So far I love them, by far my favorite injector. Ive put about 20,000 miles on the ID1000's in my X so hoping for a long life with these since I wont be maxing them out anytime soon.
