A few minor issues that needs some other insight with my Evo 8.

Please keep in mind my knowledge about cars is a bit low so use simpler terms if you could haha it would be greatly appreciated.

1: As it is winter here and it's -20 to -30 I normally start my car once a week but I didn't have time to the last two weeks and now she won't start. It's not the battery but that's all I can really diagnose. It would turn over a few times when I was trying but now it only does it once before making some sort of scratching noise. I never push it past that one noise though.

2: Car sometimes stalls when driving really slow like during a U-turn or something of those sorts. I was told it was the IAC even though I just bought it from someone on the forums.

3: I had all my seals redone in my car in the summer to fix any leaks I had but my car still felt a bit slow and my boost guage wouldn't alter when I turned my boost controller up or down. I figured that the boost controller was fried but the mechanic that fixed my car said it wasn't, although another one said it is. Not really sure who to believe but we don't have many people with experience on imports where I live.

That's it for the issues, I am really hoping leaving my car for those two weeks didn't screw up some seals again...can't afford to do them again.

1- What oil do you use in your car? I'm only guessing that because of the freezing weather the oil is so thick that your car won't start (unless it's garage kept or something). If it's not, then try getting it somewhere warmer and give that a shot.

2- It's usually the IAC that causes this like you said. I would check that again if you can.

3- I used to have this problem as well. Is it a manual or electronic boost control? When I got this problem it would be the vacuum line on the intake manifold connected to your boost gauge or boost control that might have popped off. Give that a look.

1: Umm Mobil 1 I believe and I want to but the crappy thing is that my driveway is sloped and completely covered in ice due to the weather changing from -30 to +5 a few weeks ago. I was told to get a heater for the block but honestly the only things I have are a room heater/hair dryer at the moment ahahah!

2: Ahh okay then I will buy a new one, thanks a lot I appreciate that!

3: It's a manual, well if that were the case I would assume the mechanic would have said something when my engine was torn apart would he not? It's never really worked for me since the day I bought the car.
