possibly scorched engine what are my options
To make a long story short bought an 05 evo 5sp 94k miles stock turbo only mods are a crappy tune a decent front mount and a decent exhaust. Bought car seven days ago as is from a dealer with no warranty. Turns out 300 miles later the low oil warning light never illuminated. When I heard what I thought was a noise from the transmission I babied it the next 5 mins home. Popped the hood and instantly herd a rod know from the engine or possibly the lifters. I shut the car off soon as I herd it from the engine. Pulled the dipstick no oil whatsoever on it. I paid 13k for the car and now I'm afraid I have 13k boat anchor in my driveway. What are my options any advice would be appreciated I know this could spiral into a broad topic and I apologize ahead of time just trying to reach out maybe someone else has experienced something similar.the dealership said they wouldn't let me hang out to dry with the car but I don't trust dealerships I used to work for one.
I'm guessing because you bought it "as is" then legally there would be no way to sue their asses...
Put some oil in the engine and crank it again, if the noise persists then I'm going to guess and say that it's time for a bottom end rebuild.

You bought it as is, BUT if they neglected to put oil in it that's not normal wear and tear. What you need to do is go back to dealer you bought it from and demand the used car inspection report. Im sure it will state they they changed the oil, its pretty standard when prepping used cars for the lot. I think you have a case and recommend you get an attorney and talk to the selling dealer asap. Don't put oil in it, don't touch anything.
First thing they told me well you should put oil in it. I said no its getting towed exactly the way it is back to you (ford dealer). Its basically evidence as of right now in my mind. Also they did not change the oil in the vehicle I was presnted with an itemized list of what was wrong with the car and burning oil/check engine light that may have a bulb removed was not on the list.

Does anywhere on their inspection sheet say anythting about checking fluid levels, or topping off fluid levels? That's a starting point to go from. At that point then you might be able to build the case, especially if there are no massive leaks under the car ( loose drain plug).
Ive worked at dealers where EVERY used car got an oil change at least, Ive been to others where so long as it starts, stops, and drives is considered good enough for the lot.

Check into the "lemon laws" in your state, this normally applies to a major failure with the car. Normally it is only a few days to a week long.
Your Attorney should be able to tell you more.

Sounds like its time to put a 2.3 with an fp red in it to me! Honestly though chances that you'll see a cent from the dealer are virtually zero. I've seen these threads pop up on here (with varying circumstances) for the last several years, and as far as I can remember not a single person has won vs the dealer.
