stroker vs. turbo upgrade

Hey folks taxes came in! i was thinking of going with the greenside turbo from FP. I had a 700whp 9 and it was just too much for me so i traded it for a new 08 MR. i have about 4k to send not including wrench time, should i stroke her out or go the route i was going with the greenside i just dont see spending 2500 on a single trbo when i can spend the same for a stroker kit and upgrade the turbo somewhere don the line. i want about 4-450whp but i want it to be strickly street quick spool, im done with the drag cars....Thx guys!

thats what i was eaning towards but i am recenty finding out that my motor might have been rebuilt about 10k miles ago. im talking to shift fast motorsports in sc to confirm the previous work. id rather not pull apart a new motor when i can get the turbo now and stroke later after some miles on the motor. How did you build go? what ssues did u run into which i may also? and if you could do anything differet what would you do and what do you recomend for kits? thanks man i appreciate the post.

Being new here you on your way to making friends and influencing people.
Do the turnbo, it will get you what you want is the quickest least expensive way. The stroker---well, you did that already with the 700hp build. Try not to make the same mistake twice. The green is the rt choice, or something along those lines..GL

im not new ive been a member since 2007 mane i just recently changed me email, i was in the Marines and deployed so i havent always had the time to be on here my stats must have been reset. it was a tactic to get people to start commenting and input and it worked. i didnt belittle anyone lol. i didnt stroke my last evo, it was a fully rebuilt race 2.0 with a drag built head. 40mmBB precision turbo. the only stock parts left on the car were the tranny and tcase.

You didn't state what you already had on the car to begin with so......... yeah, i would go with the turbo upgrade. your car won't be down for so long. IMO i would just run the green until your block truely needs a rebuild then i would go the 2.3. good luck!

wait... aren't the 08's an evo X? or you meant a evo 8? i see your info contradicting what you say in post 1. but, if you already have all the bolt ons plus cams, you could hit 400 with a fp green on e85(dynojet). i dont know about that 6 speed though.

450whp should be safe on the stock block with a badass tune. So just get a turbo and call it good. Shortly after, if/when you get bored, consider a stroker

the evo MR i had before this one i lowered the tune setting to 464whp at 21 or 22psi and the stock tranny held up fine. i drove it for about 10k miles before trading it, the kid after me because we still talk told me he upped the psi to around 550whp and thats when the tranny gave in. id like the 5 speed but if im that concerned ill have josh sheppard race build it. i think he does em for like 1500, does tcases too!
