Instead of a hella long intro into my car and its history, I now have a PTE 6262 JB stock EvoVIII block, and the cyl head has HKS 272's. Supporting the turbo but not installed is a Sheepey Built hot parts kit, FIC 1650cc injectors, GSC Titanium valve springs and retainer, ARP head studs, Shep built transmission...and little odds and ends.

I am after a fun all around car...I don't want it strictly drag or strictly autox, just a beast mode driving car... If that makes sense. 600-700hp on a built block or 500-600hp stock block were my goals.

So with this turbo and support mods, do I just go slow, do it right and do either a 2.2SLR, 2.3L, 2.4LR??
Or just do a stock block and hope its that fun driving car, even though I know boost will not hit until late RPM's?
I will send my head to head games here soon for one of there packages as well...

Basically Ill let this thread evolve with your comments and a discussion that I will monitor close because I feel I'm losing my path in all the information Im reading

I feel like trying to play the middlefield will keep you from being competitive in every sense.

A 6262 is far from the best autox turbo and also not the best choice for a drag turbo. I would go 5858 for stock block. If you build a block and only intend to push 700whp a 6262 should do the trick.

I think for what you are trying to do a dbb fp green would be better suited for your car. It spools insanely fast and can make 500whp on e85 and all supporting mods. If you can drive 500whp could land you a 10 second pass and the green is def more than capable of a podium finish in autox if you can drive it.

I think you should decide if you want to autox, drag or just have a all around street beast.

 

That's the thing, I just sold my 20g setup to get all new to support the 6262... I would like to have a beast mode, I'd like to do a built motor, I'd rather stay away from the stock frame setups... I just don't know which engine would offer the drivability, or be a perfect setup for this 62?
