Rod Bearing Clearence in 2.0 long rod help

Car info is as follows. Wiseco 9:5:1 pistons manley i beam rods. King xp bearings. Turbo is 6262. Basically a goal of a fun street car. Not my everyday driver. Not strictly a race car. The main bearings are .002 and the rods are .018. I know the mains are within range but i know the rod bearings are tighter than what 700hp 800 hp guys are running. Usually there rod bearing clearence is falling in the .002 to .025 i believe. So for my goals of 500hp to 600hp car will the .018 bearing clearence be okay? Is this clearence close to oem? If i run 5w40 or 10w40 will this also be ideal. Any knowledgeable reputable advice is appreciated

You'll be fine. I shoot for .0015-.002 on the rods. A good 10w30 or 10w40 will be fine. If you're concerned, you could have a machine shop hone the rods a few ten thousandths to take the clearance out a tad, but the clearance you're at will be fine.

Its already completed assembled i bought it that way. Oem block as well. Just wondering if that was to tight on rods. I was thinking amsoil zrod or ive had rotella t6 suggested. The zrod has alot of zinc and phosphorous but i dont know if it will shear badly at high rpm.

Engines don't really shear oil, especially when they don't have flat tappet cams. The amsoil zrod is great oil. Its basically their dominator race oil with detergents and anti-corrosion additives...

The engine builder daid he jotted down the clearences and put them in the wrong column. He said it was rod bearings .002 main bearings clearence is .018. So how does that sound? Better or worse

A little tight on the main. The bigger journals should be looser. But its still within factory spec, and should be fine..
