Need clutch suggestions

Hey guy and or gals, I have an Evo 8 and it is that time to put in a new clutch:-( I put about 85,000 miles on my exedy triple plate and my car put out 450hp and about 310ft pounds of torque. I'm looking to putting in a different clutch and want some input on these.

I'd stay away from those clutches. Stick to something reputable like exedy, act, competition clutch, or quartermaster.

For your torque level, ACT HD. I've been on a HD for 80K with 360wtq to 400wtq with zero lock out. I also don't launch my EVO.

If you already have an Exedy in there I'd do their rebuild kit. A triple is a bit overkill for your torque but try contacting Exedy or the place you bought it to see what you might need. If you got 85K out of the first one I doubt you were very hard on it, so it may be cheaper to rebuild what you have. Good luck

Any reason you don't want to keep the triple?

I just picked up a comp stage 3. I haven't installed in yet but I have heard good reviews on it. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews on ACT. I actually was experiencing high rpm lock out like most people and went to switch my clutch out that I thought was stock and saw that it was an ACT. Not sure which one. Looks to be a street model. I would either rebuild what you have or go to Comp. But then again I have no experience with comp, just reviews.

Is there a particular reason you are looking at unsprung puck type clutches? They are extremely hard on the drivetrain. Typically it's better for your clutch to slip then your transmission or transfer case to explode. They hold power well, but are less than friendly to DD.

I would go with a name brand that has been known to work well with evo. Search around see what people have had good luck with and go that route. Most ppl here will recommend an Exedy twin.

Money is the big reason. For the price of a rebuild I can get a whole new clutch and flywheel for cheeper. But I know some times you have to just buy the good stuff.

And reason for unsprung I've drove that style and have had no problems. Just have to get use to it.

After seeing the first image I could almost certainly say... "Don't freaking buy that"
Competition Stage 2 or 3. Best bang for buck
Exedy Twin HD ... damn near same price as the first one you've shown
Pick one of the other... not the choices you've presented. I'm sure many will agree.

Thanks guys for input. I went ahead and ordered a CC stage 3 and new CC flywheel. It was cheeper for me to go that route than a rebuild for triple plate and a new flywheel for it. Again thank you
