Only seeing 14psi on 1st gear

Is this normal. I just installed by defi bf boost guage and I am only seeing 14 psi on first gear. I only get to see higher boost (19.5) on every gear after that? Anyone care to elaborate?

yeah i agree with ev8sive, boost controller upgrade will stabilize the psi and keep it from tapering off at higher rpms too.. i'm just concerned about the 14 psi drop, maybe you are referring to the tapering off

It isn't tapering off. Its just that is the most boost I can get it too even at WOT on first gear. It was only hitting 1 bar. Once I pull into second at WOT it hits 1.34 bar (19.5) and then tapers off to 1.2.

Make sure all the lines are properly connected and tight. Keep in mind that you will never hit your desired boost or max boost on 1st gear!

yeah, jimbo is right, that's why most dyno pulls for turbo car is 4th gear and for N/A cars is 3rd
