they probably cant void ur suspension or body but they'll void ur engine and tranny.. which is basically 90% of the problem anywayz

it's pretty obvious if you have an MBC installed, especially since you have to mount the MBC in a convenient (and visible) place... also deinstalling is possible but a big pain.. I put a hole in my radiator removing mine because removing the fan is tricky. If I ever put a boost controller back in, I'll probably do it from below, which seems much easier to me than removing all that IC piping and the fan. You'll need a friend to help you lower the hoses from above... but it's very doable.

I took my MBC out because I didn't want to get busted on warranty if I ever had to bring my car in for service.. IMO an ECU upgrade makes more sense.

I think I'm going to have to disagree with almost everything in this statement.

No aftermarket part installation will just simply void your warranty.

You can certainly be denied coverages if you go in for warranty repair and it is decided that the part caused the failure. But merely installing the part will not end your warranty coverage.

I had an MBC on my car for some time.. I mounted it on the fan bracket under the snorkle so it wasn't easily seen.. The dealer is aware of my modifications however and said if they found something that required warranty replacement and the part was to be inspected by mitsubishi, they would return the car to me to swap the parts back to stock if I wanted to before they had them come down. I do admit I have a better relationship than most with my dealer and their service center.

An MBC is small and easy to hide. Route the vacuum lines along the stock pathway and it makes it even more convincing. Granted, if you want to adjust it often, you would want it accessible, but not necessarily visible.

also deinstalling is possible but a big pain..
If you put things back together in a user-friendly manner, removal and reinstalling the stock items are a snap--much easier than the first time.

I put a hole in my radiator removing mine because removing the fan is tricky.
This I well tend to agree with, but it is completely unnecessary to remove the fan.

If I ever put a boost controller back in, I'll probably do it from below, which seems much easier to me than removing all that IC piping and the fan. You'll need a friend to help you lower the hoses from above... but it's very doable.
I wouldn't even bother trying to fight the lower covers. The time wasting just getting them off and you could easily be done with the entire job. Involving a friend... two man MBC install? I wouldn't go near that shop Again, removal of fan and intercooler piping is unnecessary.

I took my MBC out because I didn't want to get busted on warranty if I ever had to bring my car in for service..
Good move

IMO an ECU upgrade makes more sense.
Bad move A $20 MBC is a much wiser investment. I'd spend the hundreds of dollars I'm saving on a Pocketlogger, AFC and/or other goodies.

Thanks for the explanation - I wasn't flaming, just wondering what the justification for your brief statement was. I am getting my PE boost gauge/controller installed Monday, so this topic was relevant.
