turbo question

turbo question

my evo 7 turbo broke and i picked up a td05 16g6 10.5t whats the difference between the stock turbo in the evo 7 and this one? i got my tune done awhile back on the evo 7 turbo that broke and was wondering if i needed another tune for this turbo? or i can just put the new turbo i got in and should be all okay?

It does flow a little more than the 9.8 but really you should be just fine running it without a tune.

you will need to bend your coolant lines to get it to fit, it will make a good amount more power than your old turbo. you will also need to get a different J-pipe for the lower intercooler pipe to connect correctly.

Turbo!

That's cool! We'll my evo 7 is at 182kilowatts now and what do u recon I could achieve with another tune and also how much more can it handle in kilowatts how much further can I go!

It's not the kilowatts / horsepower that will destroy a stock block, it's the torque / Nm. In terms of kilowatts, there are people achieving 450+ kW (600 hp) on their stock blocks, but they would control the torque to around 400 ft/lbs (~540 Nm) to keep the stock internals happy.

I'm guessing since you're in Australia your modifications are minimal due to your restrictive laws. Minor bolt-ons? If yes, then I'm presuming around 420 hp (~320 kW) would be possible on pump gas.
