What is this hole for?

I have a vendor replaced my timing belt. I notice a hole just to the left of the exhaust manifold that I don't think was there before. What was there before? Did the vendor forgot to install something ( I think they did)? Where can I buy the part that used to cover this? I hope this is not something critical. Help please. Thank you.

No big deal. There is a small rubber plug that goes there. It is removed so the OEM timing belt tool can be used to take tension off of the timing belt when being serviced.

you put a tool in that hole and it releases the pressure on the timing belt tensioner. no plug necessarily needed on it, mine is open
