Im not sure if you're asking about an OBX diff but if you are I'm not familiar with them. Jon@TRE is a wealth of knowledge so if you really want to know the scoop with it ask him and he will be able to give far better responses and suggestions.

I haven't had any sort of luck with OBX diffs. They've replaced 3 of them now.

Price difference between the wavetrac, quaifi, and the obx is like 400-600. Obx has a great priice tag. I am definitely going with the quafi. Anyone have one installed already?

I know a couple turbo L28 S30 Z guys that swear by them... But you have to figure that the load on a lightweight RWD car will be astronomically less than in the front end of a heavy AWD car. I just put another OE helical in mine, there was some seriously messed up **** going on with the helical gears.

OBX copies quaife and other companies. The product itself isn't half bad, it's just assembled wrong. If you know how to rebuild diffs, then the obx is not bad because you have to take it apart, inspect and reassemble it yourself to make it work well.

I am very capable but time is money. I have done plenty of car builds to learn this. Lol. I always liked the idea of the helical tyoe difs over clutch type for dd and occasional auto x. I also race a k20 powered civic that i upgrade the dif to the quaife and what a world of difference.

Do you have proof of this? Any examples of anyone who has done it with success?

I have aways heard the same thing obx difs break and are garbage. If you have to reassemble a new dif we have a problem. I also am not in the business of keep removing the t case
