fluide dampner

Was woundering if any one is using any type of fluide dampner on stock motor with balance shafts? How does it feel and is it truly worth the price tag?

No point in installing one on a motor with balance shafts. It really starts to make a difference with the balance shafts deleted and extra harmonics. Only then is it worth the price tag.

a crankshaft harmonic damper isn't mean to address the rotation vibrations of the rotating assembly as a whole that the balance shafts handle. it dampens harmonic rotational whip of the crankshaft. while i know of no data supporting the need to have one on a 4g63 other than the motor comes with one from the factory, a low revving high torque stroker motor is going to have more whip.

Yes, I use one. Yes, it's worth it. The stock factory one is rubber isolated and can come apart with time or mileage. The fluidampner will never come apart, and isolates harmonics better than the factory one, too, so you're better off two ways....

I use one now too and I have absolutely noticed a difference in the harmonics of the motor. HOWEVER, make sure you trim your timing cover where the pulley goes. Use a razor blade or dremel or something to trim it. My flidampr was rubbing ever so slightly which caused the timing cover to break and almost take out my motor.... just the crank sensor. Still a HUGE inconvenience however wouldve been nice to know before hand.
