Need advice
Hello Evom members,
I currently purchased a new motor setup consisting of:
2.3 buschur shortblock
ams cnc fully built head
arp headstuds
ams intake manifod
ams fuel rail
aeromotive fpr
1200cc precision injectors
walbro 400 fuel pump
buschur hta3582 turbo kit
tail wastgate
Exedy twin disc
So now the million $$$ question is would I need a stand alone system,to get her RUNNING.My Mechanic at the dealership I work for is a certified Mitsubishi mechanic .I do have trust in him,but he seems to think I would need a AEM ecu or HKS,to get it started.NOt sure if I would need one.
I would appreciate your thoughts
thanks

I dont see any reason why the stock ECU wouldn't run that. Its not going to be turn key on the stock map of course. There is a ton of support and good tuners who could easily turn that setup into a monster on the stock ECU.
Speed density or MAF?

I wouldn't drive it if you made all of those mods without getting a tune, maybe drive around some to break it in but I wouldn't rev very high at all. It is going to have a hard time running with the fuel mods without the tune
