Motor oil recommendation

I'm planning some power upgrades while maintaining stock engine internals, so I thought to treat my engine with the best motor oil available. I go through long & hot summer where I live, so I've always used full synthetic 10w-60 oils, brands like Castrol or Liqui Moly. Several friends have recommended that I convert to Amsoil, but I'm not sure which viscosity grade to use, the Signature Series 5w-30 as recommended for Evos by the vehicle selector in the Amsoil site or the Dominator SAE 60?

personally i have converted to amsoil, as have many of my track buddies as it has very good heat tolerance. i run the high zinc 10w40, but my ambient temperatures are nowhere near yours.

Read the other threads posted on this same exact topic a billion times. If youre building your motor, it all depends on what you're clearances are set at.

OP I usually don't run my car in Dubai hot summer, but I always use Mobil 1 full synthetic. Amsoil is not available locally, unless you found a place that imports.

10w-40 amsoil high zinc

Do not use 50 weight in a stock motor. Just Becuase it a 90+ degrees out doesn't mean you need 50 weight.

I'd go with AMSOIL I've heard such great things about them. I'm considering to switch to amsoil on my next oil change. I'm currently using the factory recommended mobil 1 which isn't so great in engine protection.

-_- there needs to be a sticky with all of the basic oils, high zinc oils, synthetics, recommended oils, and a description of each etc... A new "what oil should I use" thread pops up every week.. No offense O.P. Mods take note!!

........ So we have UOAs of various oils which lists there contents of additives after being ran, what they were being ran on, and some even virgin analysis of unused oils. Next up, after you have decided what oil to run, you can look and see which oil filters have performed the best. So now you have chosen your oil and oil filter, lastly there is even a sticky on what torque specs you should be using. You cant ask for much more unless now you want to have someone do this oil change for you.

Heres some more good reading....
