Perrin crank pulley

Anyone have a dyno?

Read my post 3/4 the way down. I never got a response to any of it from the thread starter. Also see the threads about pulleys in the Dynoflash forum.

i would never trust any pulley that does not have a harmonic dampener.

No one here has actually tried one of these on an EVO yet?

I have the Unorthodox crank pulley (over 10K, car has 24k total), it is 20% smaller than stock and light weight. I have closely monitored oil/water temps and alternator/battery voltages. Unlike other applications I have used (other cars), this under drive pulley shows virtually no difference in temps or voltages on the EVO.

The car is used for daily driving and road course events (TX summer). There is just no negative side effects I can find from an under drive pulley on the Evo.

I have also personally dyno tested mine and one other EVO before and after pulley install (within 1 hr). In both cases a solid 10-15WHP increas was measured accross the RPM range. I honestly believe the majority of power/torque increase measured is due to the under drive effect.
How much power is required to spin a 5lb 6" disk 3000 to 7000 RPM in say 8 seconds? according to my calculations it's less than 1HP.
Considering all this, why would you bother with a pulley that is stock diameter? If your going to get an aftermarket pulley I recommend getting an under drive pulley, oh and just the crank, don't waste money on the complete kit.
I hear Tim has one that he will sell really cheap if your interested.

Here is a graph of one of the tests I did on my car.

There is no way I could go with an underdrive pulley for my EVO. The A/C already sucks at idle and an underdrive pulley would only make it worse...

You would think so, but I did not notice any difference in the AC, don't ask me how or why, but if anything it seemed to work better with the pulley. On my last car a FD RX7 I did notice the voltage sagging with an underdrive pulley (especially with the lights/stereo on), and the AC was definiately weaker at idle.
The EVO does not seem to suffer any of these affects with an under drive pulley.

I'm waiting for my Perrin crank pulley to arrive, light weight and stock size, should be good and safe.

Interesting information, i've been wondering about buying one of these also. Good gains for such a cheap product

Ditto. I have a underdriven lightweight pulley on my Evo and I haven't noticed any difference in the charging system or when the A/C system is engaged. Bought mine for something like $80 shipped with new belts from AMStuning.com.
