Need help installing OS Giken clutch please..Wrong relocation kit?
I'm getting around to putting the OS Giken R2CD clutch in and ran into an issue. Clutch went on fine but the relocation kit isn't making sense to me on how it can work properly.
1. It only bolts on when the hydraulic line for the slave cylinder is facing the passenger side, unlike the factory location which is on the driver's side which means I would need to get a flexible line to reach the different location and even still the linkage is in the way of where the fitting would thread in.
2. When slave is bolted down the 2 silver metal linkages are sometimes rubbing on the top or bottom of the slave which would rub every time I pushed in or release the clutch.
3. The new slave has Two ports for the hydraulic line. Why is there two? One might make it push and the other make it pull? This kit is for like a car that uses two lines going to the slave?
I really think this is the wrong relocation kit or something, it didn't come with any directions either. I bought everything brand new from a reputable evo shop but this is the only issue. I can't find any pics of the external slave/fork setup on a car with an OS Giken clutch anywhere. Anyone have experience installing one of these or at least have a pic of a proper and working setup so I can compare?? I don't want to continue assembly until I get this figured out.
Thanks

1. Bend the metal line to suit. If you do it smoothly, you shouldn't crease it. There isn't that much of a major bend required to get it to fit.
2. Can't help here. Are you sure you didn't loose any of the bushes that goes between the arms and the slave pivot and the throwout pivot? Are you 100% sure you have the slave oriented the right way?
3. One is in (where the hyd line goes) and one is out (where the bleed nipple goes).
Unfortunately, mine is all installed at the moment. However I will have access to get some pics for you in a couple of days if needed.

Just noticed the pics I tried to put up from my phone before didnt work so I put some up now....Does that look right?
And duh I totally forgot about the bleeder taking up the second hole, that was a brain fart on my end..

Same gearbox as me.
lol The BC variant aren't that common I've found.
I think you'll find that the arms won't hit the slave cyl once you have it properly bolted down in place. It shouldn't anyway. As I said, mine never had any issues. Oh, the kit looks exactly like mine too, so no issues there.
I'll try and get a pic of my hard line and how it's been attached for you tonight. It'll be a dodgy iphone pic though...but should do the trick.

Sounds good, thank you! Looking forward to a pic although if I get a flex SS brained line that should resolve the bending issue I would assume too
Thank you Sir! i was thinking it had to be a flare fitting end or something and got confused and since the motor and trans isn't in the car yet I couldnt visualize how the old line ran cause I didnt think the old line would fit there but it makes sense now thanks again. What clutch did you get and how do you like it?

Mine is the exact same as yours. OS Giken R2CD. Love it. Bit grabby at first if you're not used to sports clutches...but extremely light under foot and is easy to drive after a couple of minutes. Mine highlighted worn rear diff bushes (solid thud from the rear of the car) on quick gear changes...fixed those now though, and all is sweet.
Hello!
I know that this thread is from 2014. But I just installed a Os giken Str clutch with the movement Alteration Kit in my evo 8. But I have an issue. I the kit is installed like on the pictures you have posted. But my clutch only engages with I push my clutch pedal in. So I can change gears while the car is running in neutral, but when I push my clutch down and try to put it in gear, then the car starts to move. Do anybody know what is wrong here?
Best regards
