No offence taken....
I dont think everyone here thinks that someone who buys a performance car is like us.. i drive quite a lot of cars.. even a F355 when i was living in Italy.. and my 7 is the 1st car that i have seriously modded. others were just light mods. dunno.. must be my mid-life crisis coming up...

Anyway, my reason for this poll is to find out if buying an evo makes a person spend extra money on it.. when i 1st got mine about 15 mths ago.. i told myself... damn this car is it... no more mods.. 276hp.. and now... look at my signature below.. but i have about 36k km (20k miles) on mine... most of you guys in the US have less than 10k+ with the few having 15K miles+.. hopefully, in a months time, we shall see how my theory holds up... EVOs make people spend money on it.. like the high maintenance girlfriend has Dr EVO has so kindly revealled (better not let your girl see that post :P)

From looking at the results so far, and based on my experience, I'd say your theory is pretty good. Either people haven't had the time to spend money on their evo (I'm still in the under $1000 category since I've had mine for only 1 month, and it's been winter), or they are on their way to over $5000. I told myself it's fast enough, but I'm always looking at all the shops and 'for sale's to look for deals on mods. So far, just have the boost controller.

The Evo may seem like high maintenence but but compared to other high performance cars its not that bad. I have no credit card debt and a growing savings account because i switched to the Evo. You cant have the best of all worlds and with the evo you are going to have to pay to play.

I understand the point you are trying to make, but newbies may come on here and think,"Oh, I don't want an evo, its a high maintenance car. Too much to keep up on." Then they go on other forums and start talking about how the Evo is a high maintenance car, and before long there is even more false car information on the internet. The Evo is like any other car, when it comes to maintenance. Change her oil ever 3000 and put on new brakes if need be. Change drivetrain oil and flush coolant when necessary. You have to understand the rumors and generalizations that posts like this can create. I've seen it happen before.

What do you mean by "my english is a bit too deep"?

I'm almost embarrassed to admit I've spent over $10K and I'm not making 400 whp... LOL - Once I post pics, you'll see where the money went.

Don't worry Chriz, I've spent over 15ks on my car and it probably still won't make over 300 whp when I put it all in. =X

Maintenance in the context of this poll means "Any additional expenses incurred after the absolute purchase of the product that includes internal and external modifications that improve, enhance or change the power output, looks or feel of the performance, visual impact or drivability of the product OR its user and thus includes expenses incurred for the user to use the product." Hmmm... maybe i should get my solicitor to look at this statement.. lol...

Anyway guys, just put in your votes on what you think you should... end of the day, even fuel can be included (if you want to) because this car burns fuel like a 7 litre car...

Word! Did you know that a Ferrari MUST be serviced every 3k miles and the minimum cost is US$3K min?

That's why they are newbies... Can't blame them... but they'll learn... as we all did...

Too deep.. way too deep... serious philosophical mojo...

We had people in who wanted a new car and wanted out of car B. There was no way to get them out of B due to negative equity. They bought the new car anyway. The following day, while launching their boat, truck C had a brake failure. The boat and trailer caused truck C to go right back into the bay until only the boat was above water. Several hours later the truck was winched out of the salt water.

Your post made me think of that.

164 cars? Are there only 164 Evo owners in this entire forum?

I know of quite a few EVO owners who either do not use or own computers or don't like or refuse to post up on forums.
Oh well to each his own.
