Exedy TWIN HD rebuild adjustment issues

So I have rebuilt my Exedy Twin HD setup again after it started to slip. I have replaced the two clutch discs and intermediate plate, but I can't adjust the clutch to engage any of the gears smoothly. They are all terribly notchy. I have tried to adjust the clutch rod and bleed the system the way the old Jackstransmission video recommends but no luck. Anything short of the adjustment rod all the way out, won't engage the gears. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I can't think why I am not getting full disengagement, even with the maximum rod length for clutch pedal adjusted out. I have done more than a few of these setups, and pretty confident that all the clutch assembly is installed correctly. However, in the off chance that I didn't, can anyone think what would cause this? Thanks Sorry for lengthy post
