Wondering if anybody else knows what this is. when go to shift to 3 as soon as give it any power it pops out of 3rd. anybody else have this problem and know how to fix it?

 

if you hold it in gear will it stay and drive? do all the other gears engage? when did this start occuring? did it start after making a modification?

 

all other forward gears work good. As soon as you give power it pops out of 3rd i got it to stay in 3rd couple times under light power. I just got the car said a clutch was put in few years ago. car is almost bone stock besides a blow off

 

Sounds like a trans linkage issue. I havent messed around with my trans as its always been fine, however that issue seem directly related to the trans linkage, nothing else. Anyone else think something different????????? Goodluck, let me know what happens.

 

Happened to me a couple of years ago but in 4th. Turned out to be a bent fork inside the tranny.

 

syncros and sliders for 3rd gear at least. Sounds like it been beat on. may want to consider a rebuild because the other gears cant be far behind.
