Question Trans install issues

I've got the trans lined up and even the top two bolts in, but the bottom will not go together. I tested the crank and it turns the transmission so I know the spline is mated with the clutch. I've tried taking all jacks off the trans and pushing it in, jacking up certain sides that look like they need a little rotation, jacking the engine up or down. What am I doing wrong here?

That means your input shaft is binded up. Loosen the bolts and bit and try again. I found that the back of my car has to be higher than the front in order to have things line up properly.

Would everything still turn though? I can see the output shaft turn as I turn the crank. I'll loosen the bolts and try again, but no chance the rear of the car is moving.

Grease the input shaft a small amount. It helps. Also make sure you tighten it up criss cross. Do bolt in the back top by tcase. And the one by the starter first and together. Goodluck i just did mine. On the ground. Its rough

Thanks for the replies. About one hour after the last comment I made I was able to get in and all I have left is brakes, piping, and fluids then back on the road. The shaft was not all the way in and all I had to do was drop it and start over more straight.

Lol I just went through this and boy what a pain in the *****. Like the guys are saying input shaft needs to be turned to make sure everything goes in right. I had to rotate my crank a few times to get it to line up. Another thing is to you want to make sure the trans and the block are at the same angle going in. Took me forever to get it right but multi jacks wil work for this

Angle of the block was a big part of my issues, I had it close to normal height, needed to be angled down. I'm very happy I did this, now I know I can at least. I don't think I would pay someone else unless I needed a quick turn around. Feels amazing to know I pulled a good portion of that car apart and put it back together. .. and it still runs! Lol
