I'm in CA and have my dump tube coming out of the hood of my DSM. Its.....risky haha. I have the tube against the mesh of the hood, so the pipe isn't ACTUALLY STICKING OUT, but the exhaust comes out the hood.

I can vouch it is very very loud when under full throttle. at partial though its not too bad, and since i'm never at full throttle on the streets, well the cops don't really mind.
