Maybe this will help you guys get a better idea of the location in relation to the throttle body, this is out of the 2005 service manual -

Guys, need your help! Throwing P0401 with just 100 miles..!!!!
I think my vacuum hose is off but it's the other end... those connected to EGR valve are
intact... but where are those hose should go?
Especially the one that point toward the passenger side wheel... I saw the disconnected
hose but no idea where it should go...
!!
Please help!!!

Well I was pulling a CEL and didnt bother to get the code checked out I just turned off my CEL. I was just going through treads and wandered upon this and decided to check it out. Sure enough took me about 10 sec to find the hose dangling in the dark. Guess I will throw it back on in the morning. lol
Turns out the EGR Vacuum Selenoid where the vaccum hose from EGR valve goes to
(the one pointing to passenger side wheel) is broken... the nipple where the hose is
suppose to connect to completely BROKE OFF!!!

This thread is awesome. I need to know where the EGR tube goes to. I see my EGR tube missing from the EGR valve nipple. I need to put the whole line on there, but I don't know where the tube goes from the EGR valve. I'm also missing the tube that points down and towards the drivers side as well.
Thanks to the OP!! I was huffing and puffing some black smoke out my exhaust, and I had the Black "dust" on the rear bumper. Went and got the codes checked, EGR code. Felt around for the EGR, and what did I find? BOTH hoses were off!! Plugged them back on, reset the ECU, I am good to go!!! Thanks a TON for posting this. And I am glad I used the "Search" functions on this site. VERY valuable info!!Thanks again to you!
Glad to hear the thread helped smoked. Do yourself a favor and get a couple of zipties on the lines back there. I was actually doing some boost leak testing on my friends car today and took a little extra time to reach around behind the intake to zip tie the two egr lines on both ends along with some lines back there on the passenger side. It's a tight squeeze and you'll be elbow deep in the car it will all be worth the piece of mind.
go behind the throttle body with your hand and drop down until you can feel a little saucer shaped object, the egr, and there should be a vacum line attached, the nipple that the line attaches to is pointed towards the passenger front tire. pm me if you can't find it.

Hey with this problem will the car try to start but not fire up. My car is at the shop and they along with myself are unable to find out what the problem is. I am pretty sure they haven't hooked anything up to see what code is coming out. I will see if they have.
But like I said, will this hose prevent the car from starting. I am wasting money on labor to find this problem rather than on go fast parts. Thanks.
