Buschur Racing Pro Catch Can

I want to tell you guys about a new product I designed a few months ago and the changes it has made.

We were one of the first, if not the first to offer a good catch can solution for the EVO8-9's. The cars from the factory pull a vacuum from the valve cover into the turbo inlet. The down side to this is the turbo/intercooler/plumbing get saturated with oil. This oil film in the intercooler is deadly to the efficiency of the intercooler. Someone in my thousands of posts here there is actual data of before and after of cleaning out an intercooler like that.

Back when we released our catch can we made it so it would vent the crank case pressure and then return the oil to the oil pan. On the dyno, venting this all through the car actually picked up some whp.

Over the years we've made more and more power which has lead to more and more crank case pressure. We've seen engines some through that were worn out and had so much blow by they actually push oil out of the breather on the cans. I always attributed this to an engine that was just simply worn out.

I've hurt engines myself (no ****, right?!) and seen the same thing happen on our own cars.

Well after getting into the GTR market we built an affordable can for that car, on it through I used a larger diameter can and a large vent/breather. I noticed the difference in how it worked and it got my wheels spinning on the EVO platform.

I started to think that at the power level my car is at now and as many times as this engine has been pieced together from transmissions failures maybe the oil I was seeing from the catch can breather could be lessoned or stopped.

I built a much larger body for the can, we put even better baffling in the can and then added a large breather port/filter. It has COMPLETELY eliminated all of the oil making it out of the can, 100%.

I wanted to offer this great new design to more than just EVO guys and I wanted to not limit where it could be mounted so we built a "universal" kit that allows the can to be mounted virtually anywhere and with any size AN fittings in it. I am running all -6 on mine and it works perfect.

The kit is released and because of the bracket/can design this can be used on any vehicle. We offer the optional dipstick oil return (I run it on my car) and optional AN fittings.

Here is the new product for anyone interested:

glad to see new products and development for our cars David. I have seen many people having issues lately with crank-case pressure and a few companies making products in attempt to alleviate the situation. This product seems very similar to the STM catch-can, but yours gives you more mounting options. I just like the STM one because it comes with the lines and such, maybe offer the lines as well as the fittings which I already see you offer the option for, Cheers

It's really not similar to STM's but they have a good product too.

I can send lines but it's a PITA to figure out the fittings needed on a custom mounted setup. 45's, 90's and straights aren't something you can guess at until the can is in your hand and mounted where you want it.

Do you have a picture of it installed? Did you use the 2 existing vents on the cover and one on the dipstick, or additional ones made?

The Pro Can is so you can configure it any way you see fit. I use and it's intended to be used with the two vents on the valve cover. The dipstick can be used as a third vent/oil return as long as it's mounted in the right spot.

Hey, what are the differences between this and the Oil/Vapor Catch Can you also offer? I'm currently running the 2 cam cover lines to a catch can with a breather, but I still get a lot of oil vapor throughout the engine bay when out on the track. I know going bigger lines will help separate the oil, and I plan to go -8, but also wanting to get a better catch can, just needing one that has a good baffle design.

Both cans have the same baffling in them. The Pro can is larger with a larger breather, it basically gives the engine more "breathing" room and we've found it's needed at higher boost, cars with more blow by etc. Both can use the third (bottom) inlet for an extra vent to the crank case or to drain oil back to the block.
