humm, could be, as it did come from Japan.
Here the phone # 817-860-4300, to Alamo Auto Sports that I ordered my Transfercase through. Ask for Brice, he is the owner, maybe he could help.

I'm interested in knowing how many 05 owners have had broken transfer cases and if was due to abuse, differnet fluids, or just out of the blue. To me it seems it's a bigger problem with the 03' EVOs and some but few 04 EVOs.
I have a O3 and i dont know if it is the TC but it sounds really loud when the AC kicks on.... i have no clue! can some one tell me what it might be, i mean it sounds like a and airplane alright, but its more like a metal vibrating against the transmission. And it only happens when the AC goes on then when the cars idle drops it'll do it again. Can somebody help me? NO engine mods at all, just BOV, Catback, intake, thats it!
Evox.....
Im not for sure what is causing your sound but, it dose not sound like the TC . The TC will make all kinds of sounds low - high speeds. Someone you could call to ask is Brice @ Alamosports
here in Texas. He has a lot of knowledge on working on Evo’s and is more then willing to try to help someone. Give him a call at 817-860-4300. I think they open around 10:00 a.m..
Hang in there someone will be able to answer your question.

I have an 04 Evo and the clutch went out at 4500 miles replaced with exedy twin disc...1000 miles later broke the front diff and ring and pinon. Now i have the TRE Ralliart transfer case and couldnt love it more.
How much did that TC cost? I have an 03 with 40k and I'm hearing noises I havnt herd before...
