2003 evo passenger axle not fitting

Hey all, i got a 2003 mitsubishi Evo, The old axle boot accidently ripped from me, and i replaced the axle with a axle from oreily auto parts. The oem axle i threw away. This axle is not locking into place and the snap ring is still their. This is the 7th time i am trying and still cant figure it out please help heres a youtube video

I would take the axle and intermediate shaft out and look inside of it to see if the c-clip is even reaching the groove. If the c-clip just isn't clipping into place, return the axle and get a new one and see if you have the same problem. Or just go on eBay and get a used OEM one for a guaranteed fitment.

I would return the axle. It is very likely that the axle they sold you was from a base Lancer model. It has happened many times. Not the same length and other issues.

Buy an OEM one as Piro suggested and save yourself the headache.

Never throw away old parts until you have verified the new part matches. A very noobish mistake, but I sometimes still do it and want to kick my own *** after said mistake. Good luck.
