it might be that the 4g63 runs hotter than most cars.... so maybe the heat is breaking it down quicker...

residue in coolant overflow

Hi All,
Anyone got oil residue in their coolant overflow tanks? When I pull the cap on the radiator, there is no sign of oil mixing. I cleaned the overflow tank and about a week later the residue appeared again. Does'nt seem like a blown head gasket. The car runs fine.
Cheers,

Yeah because I use the Water Wetter and have experienced this. WTF? Is it just what happens when you use this stuff?

Yes, I did use water-wetter. Is this the cause, and if so, why?

Guys I had water wetter in my car and now I have a blow head gasket.... Everyone spread the word!!! Tell all Evo oweners to STOP using water wetter on their Evo's this is too much of a pattern. I didn't see an oil residue but my engine began to leak anti freeze and now Mitsu is saying I have a blown head gasket....

I'm sick to my stomach, even though I got Mitsu to replace this gasket under warrant I'm sick over the fact that their techs may not know how to handle such a detailed and lengthy job... I'm so damn worried for my car right now... It's out of commision for at least a week. I'm going tomorrow to take a look at my car and get a feel for whether or not they can handle this task. I'm actually thinking about selling it at this point because I think when I get it back it'll never run the same.
