Oil Seal In Transmission
Oil Seal In Transmission
Hey guys.
I tore apart my transmission to check for visible damage during a clutch swap (I was getting a loud whine during decel from 2nd to 1st). While checking I took out a oil seal that goes between the output shaft and the transmission housing its about 1/2 inch in diameter. I just cant figure out what side its supposed to be installed on.
One side is completely flat with a small amount of metal showing
The other has no metal showing and is not flat, and has flared rubber looks similar to a cv axle seal.
Also how hard is it to re-install the gear selector? Any tips?
Attached are images of the oil seal.
Thanks
Aaron
