Opinion on Comp Clutches?
as for the noise, that's kinda weird too. i especially don't recall having any noises with new flywheels and clutches.
it's interesting to see so many people with so many different experiences with the same clutch.
this always makes me curious. nobody i know has had any lockout issues, and we've all used ACT exclusively since 2001. i'm trying to figure out why some people have this issue and some don't. i wonder if it's a throttle hang problem. all of us have had that tuned out of our cars. have you fixed yours as well?

I have adjusted the clutch pedal and it seemed to help with the lockout out but I do get it occasionally. And mostly during cold temps its hard to put in gear. I will say that after the install I did noticed an increase decel noise level and 1st gear whine.
have you launched it? drag racing?
personally i'm looking for a clutch that will hold up to some road course/time attack abuse with maybe some drag time. all with about 350-380tq to the wheels
as a point of reference: my HDSS worked great with the power in my sig. i do Time Attack, HPDE, and autox. i tried the drag strip once, though, and it wasn't happy. you may wanna jump to the 6 puck. it holds a TON of torque. just my experience and $.02.
this sounds a lot like transmission issues. shifts better when the fluid is warmer? clutches don't (typically) shift better after warm up.
i have noise on decel as well. i have had that with any aftermarket clutch in any car. no clue why, though LOL. 1st gear whine also shouldn't be a clutch issue. that sounds like trans or transfer case.
Oh im sure my transmission and transfer case is in need of a rebuild. Thats something im planning on doing once the car and i return to the states

Now that i think about i may just try their Regular HDSS. The difference in the xtreme and regular hdss is 55ft/lbs of tq capacity and the xtreme has a stiffer pedal. Kaj you have the regular HDSS pressure plate, correct?

Thats good to know. My main focus with my future build is to do time attack/road course and an occasional drag event. But i want a clutch that will have great street manners as well. Now this setup has lasted a pretty decent time. But unfortunately my knees are not getting any better and the xtreme HDSS pedal feel can become a little much at times. Dont think im going go with any puck style clutch it will definitely be a full face plate. My max power goals will be 500-550hp im guessing tq will be just north of 400 with my planned build in kill mode (drag/topspeed pulls) and anywhere between 450-500hp for the street/time attack modes. Truthfully my current setup should be able to handle. I guess ill just have to make an effort to never miss leg day at the gym

yes, i just took out an HDSS.
FWIW finding a good clutch for a drag strip AND street is a tough one. with the torque level you will be at, i'd say pretty much impossible.
again, this is all just my opinion. do you have a way to test out any other clutches to see how you like the pedal and engagement?
