I sent my engine off to Curt Brown to get a short block built, and I have received it back. I need to install the balance shafts, because I'm not doing a delete. I wasn't the one who pulled them, so I'm not sure how to install them. Now, I'm assuming I push them in and bolt them up, but is there anything I need to keep an eye on?

 

on the oil pump side there are dots on the gears that need to be lined up. go to youtube and watch all of jafframobiles videos. great info there. i know he has a delete video but he also describes in detail the assembly process. intake side is just line the marks up and new belt.double check if the bearings are lined up. i highly doubt your builder would make that mistake but the piece of mind is worth it.

you will need to install bearings. this is one of the hardest jobs there is if you dont have the special tool. even good everyday mechanics will fail. if the bearings are hammered in they will be distorted and lead to near immediate failure.
