Help!!!! Lots of white smoke at idle smell like oil burning ..
yesterday i blow the gap pf a spark plug in a race and i remplace the spark plug and car ran good .. 3 hours after the car start to smoke white on exhaust .. Today i drive it again and when parked let it on and the amout on white smoke is constant with oil smell .. Like burning oil .. I check my oil lvl and is a lil below the low mark ... Ideas???????
Bump this! I've got the same issue, but mine is on a brand new built block with a new head gasket just installed...
Engine has barely seen any boost and I know my head studs are torqued exactly to spec
Also put new cams, valve springs, retainers, and seals in while the block was getting built....
Help!

I also have this problem.....
Yesterday I did a compression test and all were a little low, but two were lower than the others,
They were 130/130/150/150
The ones with low compression had oil on the spark plug threads when I removed them...
Pretty sure it was the headgasket, bc embarrassing story.... I actually installed it wrong like 3 weeks ago, but never started the car, so I flipped it, it still looked good.
So I've been spitting white smoke also but my coolant has been full, I've been losing oil though.
Took my head off and this what I found....

Looks like there there was all kinda of oil and coolant mixing and slowly seeping into the cylinder.... Also my new pistons with 600 miles on them have all kinds of carbon build up on them, so I'm sure that has to be some nasty stuff in the combustion chambers.
I'll let you know when my head gasket comes if that solves my problem but I'm very sure it will, good luck

Did you lose any of the spark plug in the engine, like the ground electrode? If so, it could have damaged a valve, valve seal, piston face, or cylinder wall, or all of the above. I hope that wasn't the case. In any case, I'd say the head has to come off, unless you have a borescope, and the issue is readily visible.
