low like its about to stall out and high about up to the number 1. This happen every so often, it doesnt' matter how long I got the car running it could happen when i run it long or when i just recently started the car. Could it be the spark plug? or something misfiring?

You might have a vaccuum leak. Check all your hoses and clamp, make sure they are properly secured.

sometimes my car will do this periodically e.g. when i have the defroster or A/C on. i think it stands to reason that the car is compensating for the additional load?

nevertheless it couldn't hurt to check for vacuum leaks.

not to revive a dead thread but was wondering if this guy had fixed his problem. At signal lights today my idle was rising/ dropping anywhere from 500(near stall) to 1000rpm and it also had a very un-normal like sound while doing this. driving was fine and but the next light same thing, any opinion?

I have a similar problem that just started recently when the temps got really cold. I am convinced that it is a common thing with evos. It's prolly something to do with the turbo spooling down. The turbo is always spinning and when it spools down it doesn't move as much air which in turn cause the idle to richen up alot. I noticed my AFR's richen up to 12.0:1 or more. That rich condition will cause it to likely stall then idle high for a bit as the ecu tries to compensate. I know MalibuJack mentioned this exact same thing in another thread. This is the only answer that I could think off. I just put in new plugs and it still does it. I am getting new wires soon so I will see if that helps. I also have 39,000 miles on mine. Hope this helps.
