Turbo Blanket, pros/cons
I've been always interested in heat management & increasing efficiency, I'm currently considering installing a turbo blanket (stock turbo) & wrapping the downpipe with thermal wrap. Turbo blanket manufacturers claim that such heat shielding would result in faster turbo spool/response. I wonder if such claim was independently verified by any tuner, dyno testing?
In general, the idea of isolating a heat source makes perfect sense but on the other hand I'm thinking where would the heat go? How would the turbine housing cool down being fully covered without any ventilation?
I'd appreciate your feedback

I wish there were a turbo blanket made for stock EVO turbine housing.
Unfortunately I saw none so far, so I had it ceramic coated when sent for porting.
I think this is pretty decent, and might work with turbine housing also, but didn't try it yet:
