turbo vaccume question..blown turbo!

okay, if the turbo vaccume lines are not correctly installed, will it cause the turbo to get damaged?

i think, but im not sure that the turbo vaccume lines were improperly installed on my turbo, when i was driving, it made a whishy noise below 3000 rpm's,and was in negative vaccume, when i tried to boost a bit it never went into positive boost was below the 0 psi on my boost gauge and suddenly this churping noise started...

again, if the vaccume lines are not properly installed. will the turbo get damaged to a point it will make a loud churping noise? or can this noise be something else?

When you say turbo vacuum lines, you mean the one from J pipe and another from wastegate actuator?

no i mean, both are connected to the waste gate from the boost controller solenoid..

i think the mechanic installed them incorrectly, by switching the vaccum lines.

one is going from the boost solenoid to the top of the waste gate (tial wastegate) and another is going from the boost solenoid to the side of the wastegate.

he might have put the top one on the side one and vice versa.

can that cause the turbo to get damaged? i took out the intake and spun the turbo by hand and its hitting the housing..

when i boosted yesterday, there was a pop and then the car almost died, after that the churping noise started.

if the line are incorrect the thing that you don't want it happening is over boosting in your case maybe the wastegate is opening and maybe this is the noise your hearing just search for the turbo vacuum line diagram and it very easy to correct it, and no you wont damage the turbo if your not over boosting

no i wasnt boosting alot, it was 1st gear and 30% throttle, and the turbo just didnt want to boost. it was still in the negative vaccume and then a pop and churping noise.

your saying that, if i wasnt boosting i would not damage the turbo, but the thing is i did!

thats why im asking if not connecting the vaccume lines will damage the turbo, in my case the intake side turbing is rubbing against the housing.
