I'm dieing to start taking it apart more but I don't live at home anymore and I don't have a garage where I live so I'm still trying to find a place where I can take it apart. I'll update once I get the oil pan off.

So I wasn't able to get the oil pan to come off before I stopped for the night, but I drained the oil and honestly it looks completely normal. I even tried running a screw driver though it (what with it being magnetic and all) and still no metal shavings in the oil.

I guess we'll see what happens when/if I get the oil pan off.

Cut your oil filter open and hope there isn't gold in there...

I know how you're feeling, and the last thing we ever want to do is admit that the worst case scenario is our reality.

From the sound of your engine and the fact that your clutch is causing your engine to stall, it sounds like your bearings are completely shot. That wouldn't only explain the noise, but the excessive lateral play on the crankshaft as well when the clutch is engaged.

As everyone else has said, continue pulling the pan and disregard what you don't find in the oil. You don't want to tackle this one half way.

Oh yeah, and as mentioned, don't plan on reusing that oil cooler.
