exedy triple disc in my evo 8 makes groaning and screeching sounds, only on decel form 4k to 2.5k rpm.

IT'S A ANOTHER CLUTCH THAN CAN HOLD 700 foot pounds OF TORQUE AND WILL BE A NOISY FREE??

Its normal. My Exedy did the same thing. People thought something was wrong. Nah bro, just my clutch. lol.

Heard mixed reviews on the quartermaster. Someone will probably chime in with one to give you more insight.

 

Is it also normal for the Exedy triple plate clutch to have a "clunk" sound when downshifting?

 

I want an Evo that makes 900, but I want it to be as quiet as a stock turbo car.

 

I have a Carbonetic triple. Without the lower cover on the bell housing people would say it sounds like my car is broken. I put sound deadening tape on the cover and installed it and it's not bad at all now. Still have horrible decel noise from 2500-3500 rpm. I also want a 900hp evo that drives like it's bone stock.

 

Yeah man i want that too, but i don't care some noise like vibrations for rigid mounts, anyways my car has everything than you can imagine, so i expect to hear sounds, but this noise from the clutch its to much for me, there must be another quieter than holds 700.

 

hahahaaa I got that same (little less) noise from my Helix twin clutch when releasing the throttle from 3500rpm.

It's normal. It chatters, wines, chunks.....the works....but it'll hold pretty much anything you can throw at it.

 

I really don't know of a "quiet" clutch that holds that much power. I wish there was one as well. I run the quartermaster twin and it sounds like two honeybadgers are Gettin it on inside my bell housing everytime I take off.

 

Time to call Porsche / Mclaren and ask them what witch craft they are using on the hypercars
