Hey guys i have recently picked up a evo 6 that has a blown ayc diff. the previous owner has had it replaced twice and he said the car drove sweet for about 2 days and diff went back to knocking. what could cause this? i am looking at getting a rs lsd from evo 6 but the price is quiet high

 

The AYC pump is a known problem area on the 5-6. I suggest removing it and going to either the 5-6 RS setup, or a USDM 8-9 rear diff. There are lots of threads about it on lancerregister but here is one to get you started http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=395709
