Interesting. I would think it has to do with the load. I would think the higher load makes it take longer for the turbo to get to max shaft speed thus building power for a longer time whereas the 3B being lighter reaches max shaft speed quicker and being more linear giving the effect of less power.
Does this make sense to anyone else?
I would like to see a compressor map comparison of the 2.
I can offer up a VD graph of my car in 4 gear before the new owner picks it up. CBRD used 3 gear for tuning.
